Departmental Notes on Events 1st January 31st December 1940, with several appendices including an Appendix [O] on events prior to 1st January 1931. Copies of these Notes are issued only to responsible officers by name. Each such officer will treat his copy as an Official Document. Appendix A. Republican Congress Movement 1934-1936. Secretary. Circa 500 pages of detailed information mostly unavailable elsewhere. According to one researcher, the documentation relied on intelligence, sometimes faulty from the Special Branch. ‘Nevertheless they are an exhaustive record of the years following the establishment of the state. Relatively few copies of these handbooks were produced and they were not given to every cabinet minister.
